NewLocal ("we", "our", or "us") operates newlocal.ca, a platform connecting newcomers to Canada with job opportunities and employers. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, how we use cookies and analytics (including Metricool), and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information you provide directly:

• Job application data (contact details, work authorization, resumes, cover letters)
• Communication preferences and newsletter subscriptions

• IP address and approximate (city-level) location
• Job engagement events (apply clicks, application submissions, employer link clicks)

We share your information only as follows: with employers when you apply for a job or make your profile visible to them; with service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, database, email delivery, and analytics — all bound by confidentiality obligations); when required by law or to protect our rights; and otherwise only with your consent. We do not sell your personal information.

5. Analytics & Metricool

With your consent, we use Metricool (a web analytics service operated by Metricool Software, S.L.) to understand how visitors use newlocal.ca — for example, which pages are visited and how often. Metricool collects pseudonymous usage data such as pages viewed, referring site, browser, device type, and approximate location derived from your IP address.

Important points about analytics on NewLocal:

• The Metricool tracking script only loads after you accept analytics cookies in our cookie banner. If you decline, it never loads.
• You can withdraw consent at any time using the toggle in Section 7 below — tracking stops immediately.
• We use analytics data in aggregate to improve the site; we do not use it to identify you personally.
• Metricool processes data on our behalf under its own privacy practices; see Metricool's legal and privacy information.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular security assessments to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

You have the right to:

• Delete your account and associated data
• Opt out of marketing communications and analytics tracking
• Control your profile visibility settings
